  • Lucca Stine
     January 12, 2024
     3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The MCA  proudly presents the unique jazz perspective of the Luca Stine Duo. The duo offers fresh takes on American Songbook selections by Cole Porter and George Gershwin, as well as their own genre-blending compositions. Trumpeter and native Sarasotian, Stine is a two-time Suncoast Scholarship winner and recent graduate from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music – one of the country’s premiere jazz programs.  A star in the Miami jazz scene, Stine brings his smooth stylings home to Sarasota for this intimate program. This will be our last opportunity to hear Stine live before he relocates to London, England, and his next musical tour.

What exactly makes a great jazz musician?  To be considered good at jazz, one must have the ability to go into improvisation or solo sections after the melody. This improvisation is what makes jazz music stand out from the other genres of music. The solo section allows musicians to showcase their skills and encourage reactions from the crowd.  Stine is one of the Country’s best so, get ready to clap, sing along and experience the soulful sound of the Luca Stine Duo for his Farewell Sarasota Performance.
