SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County’s Solid Waste Department is preparing for changes that will better serve the community. New franchise hauler contracts for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection were approved by the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners on March 5. These contracts will take effect in 2025, with new services to begin March 31, 2025. Residents should continue to follow existing disposal guidelines for collection services until then.
